Article 1 1. The Federation of Portuguese Obstetrics and Gynaecology Societies (FPOGS) originated from the Portuguese Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, founded on January 19, 1954. 2. The FPOGS sprang of free will from the association between various societies which have since been created in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology to represent specific interests in areas of technical, scientific and professional differentiation resulting from the progress and increasing complexity of the different branches of medicine. 3. The Federation of Portuguese Obstetrics and Gynaecology Societies is referred to in its abbreviated form as the FPOGS. 4. While respecting the autonomy of each of the affiliated societies, the FPOGS proposes to: a) maintain a bond of unity in the promotion and protection of women’s overall health; b) ensure greater coordination of the activities and actions of member societies; c) credit the workshops organised by national entities when such accreditation is required; d) represent the various members with national and international bodies in an integrated and concerted way. |
